Botswana

Some of the most sought after safari lodges on the African continent are found in the Okavango Delta, Moremi Wildlife Reserve and Chobe National Park of Botswana. With its dramatic landscapes, the region is famed for abundant wildlife and highlights, apart from open vehicle game drives extends to elephant back rides, canoe trips in on the waterways, and sunset cruises on the larger river channels.

The Okavanga Delta

The Okavango Delta is quite easily one of the earth’s last Edens, offering the largest freshwater wetland in the world and the natural scenery and wildlife in numbers are truly impressive. Within this region is the famous MOREMI GAME RESERVE, offering BIG5, but especially famous for its leopard, and its small luxurious safari lodges.

Chobe National Park

Western section – Savute, Selinda and Linyanti forms part of the western sections of Chobe National Park, and are quite remarkable for their huge concentrations of animals and unique adaptations of predators such as elephant hunting lions.

Northern section – The Chobe River forms the natural border between Zambia and Zimbabwe and Victoria Falls can be reached from Chobe as a day trip, combining well with a safari excursion. This section is the most populated in terms of larger hotels and lodges offering a slightly more mass form of safari tourism but still very easily enjoyed by the eco enthusiasts.

Central and Western section – These parts of Botswana are a lot more stark, flat savannah and bushveld, offering the Central Kalahari Game Reserve which is hardly developed for tourism and offering a few isolated camps, mostly only suited for the extreme 4 x 4 enthusiast.

South West – In the South West is the massive Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park, bordering with South Africa and Namibia, is also most suited for those seeking extreme wilderness experiences or overland trucking style excursions.
